Mod Post: Round 3 Lightning Drabble Round (Open to Everyone!)

Hello!

The mod team (roebling and myself, almostblue) just want to say again that we are so incredibly grateful to everyone who has written, read, and commented for this third round of TBB. Thank you for your time and effort and talent! It's been amazing to see so much great enthusiasm and energy!

While we wait for the last few stories to get posted, we're going to hold a Lightning Drabble Round!

Before I get into what that means, I want to introduce this year's honorary mods for the lightning round - i_luv_tvxq, (you may know her as @TVXQluff) and akmongs (@himchanni), who runs bapfanfiction. They are both wonderful people who keep the fandom running through recs, comments and kudos, quietly and without much fanfare. We think they're great, and we wanted to thank them for all of their hard work over the years.

So as this round progresses, feel free to ask them questions as well! If roebling and I aren't around (or aren't...awake, ahaha, timezones /o\) they are here to help you out :)

Our hope is that the Lightning Drabble Round will be a fast, fun, low pressure opportunity for everyone to keep writing a little bit more! Here's how it will work:

1) If you want to participate, comment on this entry with a pairing you'd like to write. Please keep it to one comment per pairing.

2) A mod (any mod!) will reply with 3-5 random one word prompts.

For example, you might comment with the pairing DaeJae. A mod will reply to your comments with the prompts: apple, blonde, sneakers, failure, nuna

3) You have until September 13th to write as many drabbles as you want based on those prompts! All the drabbles you write should be under 1,000 words. They can use any of the words, all of the words, whatever you want. Post your fics as replies to the mod comment, and title them like this:[prompt, pairing, rating, warnings] in the heading of the comment. There's no assigned posting times or deadlines, so you can post 'em as you write 'em!

You don't have to have participated in the exchange to take part in the lightening round! Anon commenting will be enabled so anon participants should also be able to take part. It's low stakes, so if you can only write one drabble based on your prompt, that's absolutely fine. 10 drabbles? Fine too! Real life gets in the way and you can't write at all? We get it.

If there are any questions we haven't answered just comment below and we'll try to answer them right away! Otherwise, that's it! Lightning Drabble Round starts now, and runs until 9/13! Hwaiting!!!

hands / himup / no warnings

Himchan has very nice hands. It's something that Jongup notices one day, during a particularly long recording session, where Yongguk is pushing them for perfection, as they record and rerecord the parts of the song, over and over, until Daehyun's voice starts to go a little hoarse. Himcham's hands are fiddling with his pen and the wires of the mics and even with his hoodie. Himchan's someone who's quite active, when he doesn't sleep. Jongup wonders if that's because of the frequent coffee or just part of Himchan's innate charm.

But his hands are nicely manicured. Probably because of the stylist-noonas, but Jongup thinks that even if they weren't an idol group, Himchan would probably upkeep those hands. They're long and pale, from hours of playing musical instruments and they're nicely shaped. They aren't thin and emancipated, to the point where you could see veins, like some of the other sunbaenim, but more healthy and strong. he has a nice curve though, from his arms to his hands, he has wrists, which Jongup sort of wants to encircle, to see whether his fingers could fit around it.

Jongup glances down at his own hands. They're not nearly as nice, though they aren't bad. He knows that the Secret-noonas like his hands because they're strong, but Jongup think that Himchan's are nicer.

He's drawn from his thoughts as finally, Yongguk's satisfied with the quality of the recording and they're dismissed by Manager Kang, to go somewhere. Daehyun slumps over Junhong's shoulder and Youngjae strecthes out, with a relieved sigh. Himchan murmurs somethign to Yongguk and Yongguk cracks a smile, before Himchan gets up and drapes his arm over Jongup, his fingers twitching against Jongup's shirt. "Jonguppie, come and get coffee with your hyung?"

"Okay hyung." says Jongup placidly, as they walk out of the studio together. Himchan isn't saying anything as they walk along the busy street, just hums pleasantly under his breath, as his fingers drum against Jongup's chest, in the tune of the song he's humming. Jongup can't recognize the song, but he likes it.

They enter Himchan's favourite Starbucks 'because the coffee is just right here, don't you feel it Jongguppie?' and Himchan pulls his hands away from Jongup's shoulders to order. It's a little empty without Himchan's hands there, but watching him hand over his card from his wallet and signing his name distracts Jongup a little. The way his hands grasp around the pen and the little creases in his wrist are sort of captivating.

As they wait for their coffee, Himchan pulls out his phone and idly taps and types with it, telling some jokes to Jongup. Jongup's distracted by the sight and the sound of Himchan's lithe and talented fingers speeding quickly over the keyboard, like when Himchan plays the daegeum, so his laughs come a beat too late. Himchan's beautiful fingers stop tapping at the speed of light and he glances up, with an eyebrow cocked.

"Anything the matter, Jonguppie?" asks Himchan, curiously.

Jongup shrugs, nonchalantly. "Just a bit tired, hyung." He can't really be all that tired, after he and Himchan actually slept for ten hours the night before, in preparation for the long day of recording, but Himchan doesn't question it, his face softening instead, as he starts tapping again.

"I'll give you a massage when we get back then, Jonguppie." says Himchan nonchalantly, as if his statement hadn't just made Jongup's throat close up at the fact that the hands that he's been admiring all day will be probing into Jongup's tensed neck and back muscles and will be close to Jongup in a way that isn't entirely platonic. He doesn't let his anxiety show, however and smiles.

"Thanks hyung." he says, with a small grin.

Can't really blame Jongup for staring at those hands, to be honest. I liked this. :)
