TBB is back for Round 5, a fanfic gift exchange, with a twitter poll regarding the timeline and minimum word count.

We also have an important announcement to make. While TBB has been on LJ since the beginning, after the success of Round 4 on Ao3, and due to the shifts in the userbase, we’ve decided to move to AO3 permanently, and will no longer be posting to

thebrowniebunch. Moving forward, you’ll be able to find information about future rounds on our tumblr bapbrowniebunch with announcements on our twitter @bapbrowniebunch.

This community won’t be deleted, but you can also find updated lists of past round fics by accessing their respective collections: Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3. Do make sure to check out the bookmarks as well, where fics not posted on AO3 can be found linked.

The mod team (

roebling and myself,

almostblue) just want to say again that we are so incredibly grateful to everyone who has written, read, and commented for this third round of TBB. Thank you for your time and effort and talent! It's been amazing to see so much great enthusiasm and energy!

While we wait for the last few stories to get posted, we're going to hold a Lightning Drabble Round!

Before I get into what that means, I want to introduce this year's honorary mods for the lightning round -

i_luv_tvxq, (you may know her as @TVXQluff) and

akmongs (@himchanni), who runs bapfanfiction. They are both wonderful people who keep the fandom running through recs, comments and kudos, quietly and without much fanfare. We think they're great, and we wanted to thank them for all of their hard work over the years.

So as this round progresses, feel free to ask them questions as well! If

roebling and I aren't around (or aren't...awake, ahaha, timezones /o\) they are here to help you out :)

Our hope is that the Lightning Drabble Round will be a fast, fun, low pressure opportunity for everyone to keep writing a little bit more! Here's how it will work:

1) If you want to participate, comment on this entry with a pairing you'd like to write. Please keep it to one comment per pairing.

2) A mod (any mod!) will reply with 3-5 random one word prompts.

For example, you might comment with the pairing DaeJae. A mod will reply to your comments with the prompts: apple, blonde, sneakers, failure, nuna

3) You have until September 13th to write as many drabbles as you want based on those prompts! All the drabbles you write should be under 1,000 words. They can use any of the words, all of the words, whatever you want. Post your fics as replies to the mod comment, and title them like this:[prompt, pairing, rating, warnings] in the heading of the comment. There's no assigned posting times or deadlines, so you can post 'em as you write 'em!

You don't have to have participated in the exchange to take part in the lightening round! Anon commenting will be enabled so anon participants should also be able to take part. It's low stakes, so if you can only write one drabble based on your prompt, that's absolutely fine. 10 drabbles? Fine too! Real life gets in the way and you can't write at all? We get it.

If there are any questions we haven't answered just comment below and we'll try to answer them right away! Otherwise, that's it! Lightning Drabble Round starts now, and runs until 9/13! Hwaiting!!!

Hey hey everyone!

First, I think we all need to take a moment of silence and thank the gods of k-pop for

roebling, who has been quietly working away at almost everything fest-related while I relocated and generally had my ENTIRE LIFE life turned sideways and upside down.

Second, we've compiled a preliminary list of posting dates, but I just want to reiterate something from our previous post:

If there are any dates between 8/31 and 9/10 that you won't have access to a computer (and so cannot post) please let the mods know right away by commenting here or by emailing us at browniebunchmods@gmail.com.

For Americans, This is Labor Day Weekend. Posting will start on the Sunday of the holiday, so if you are going to be out in the woods surrounded by bears and literally will have no access at all to a computer, we need to know ASAP so we can move people around.

(Please do not get eaten by bears.)

Third, don't forget that our Members-only Beta Post is up! We already have people offering to beta, so please check there if you need help!

Fourth, just to clarify: stories are due August 30th, in our inbox, by 12am EST (so basically, you have until midnight on the 30th). They must have a beginning, middle, and end, but they do not need to be beta'd, and you are free to make changes to your story between sending it to us and posting it to the community.

Finally, we have some polls! We want your opinions, so please vote!

Hi guys,

Just some final reminders as the fest comes to a close...

1) You can post your pinch hit as long as it's still September 13th anywhere in the world. We'll follow standard Big Bang rules for this one!

2) If you do not post your pinch hit, we will be sending an email out to both you and your author explaining the situation. From now on it is your responsibility to communicate with your author about the status of their fic, and to work things out between yourselves.

3) We will be closing the community to new posts (including the lightning round post) promptly on September 14th. We're so happy that everyone had so much fun, but we need to come up with a final masterlist, and also your mods are tired -_- We need a break just like everyone else!

4) You are of course still free to cross-post your stories and drabbles anywhere you like - LJ, tumblr, AFF, wherever! But we want to ensure that no new comments are posted, because a mod will not be online to respond to them anymore.

5) Please don't forget to give the final pinch hits lots of love! These authors worked hard on these stories just like everyone else (in only a week, even!) and they deserve your love and support just as much as the rest of the fest n___n

Hi guys!

First of all, we (roebling, loudestoflove, and myself) wanted to say a huge thank you to every author who participated, signed up, wrote amazing stories (Seriously! Holy crap we were so impressed with the amazing range and quality of the stories we got this year! you guys are awesome ♥ ), beta'd, encouraged their friends, checked in with us on time (EVEN WHEN WE MADE MISTAKES, sorry to the two of you whose drafts we totally lost /o\ /o\ /o\ THANK YOU FOR NOT HATING US we're so sorry "ORZ) and generally just...were awesome.

You guys made this fest so much more than we could have ever hoped for. I'm also sorry that I'm the one writing this post because I am a big damn sap and now you all have to listen to it but like. THANK YOU GUYS. WE LOVE YOU A LOT. WE LOVE THIS FANDOM A LOT AND WE'RE SO HAPPY. FEEEELSSSSSS.

Unfortunately, we also have to report that after giving them every chance and extension, we have some authors who haven't responded to our attempts to get in touch with them, or turned in their final drafts :|||| We believe it's really important that everyone who wrote a story also receives one (it's an exchange, people), so we are moving on to a pinch-hit round.

The PINCH-HIT Round will run from September 6th to September 13th. Authors who offer to pinch-hit will have one week to write a story for their recipient. Once they turn in a final draft to us, they can post immediately, but they must post a completed story by September 13th. This is really important. We have authors who put tons of time and effort into writing, and still haven't received anything in return, and that sucks. We're going to do everything we can to make sure they get a story in return for all of their hard work--we have very, very large spreadsheets and none of you have been forgotten. Some pinch-hits are already being written as I write this, but the mods can't do everything, and we're going to need some help from you guys.

If you would like to volunteer to pinch-hit, comment below with your preferred email address. All comments will be screened. Keep in mind that you may receive almost ANYTHING, so if there is something that you absolutely feel you cannot write 1,000 words of, please note it in the comment. You will receive an email if you are selected. We'd also like to stress that the most important thing here is writing a story, and not producing an epic. Only take on what you know you can accomplish in seven days.

And to keep the rest of us entertained while we wait for some of the stories...stay tuned for details on our (super optional) lightning drabble round! :D :D :D :D

EDIT: Important question! baekedhyunnie asked: Hi! Do we have to be part of the original authors that signed up for round 2 in order to Pinch-Hit (and participate in the upcoming lightning drabble round)?

NOPE! No you do not! :D As long as you're fine with not receiving a story in return, we'll take any offers to pinch hit - and absolutely everyone can participate in the lightning round!

EDIT2: Anonymous asked I'd like to participate - would it be possible to submit anonymously, though?

Since we can't uh, answer your question without unscreening it and making you non-anonymous, we'll answer it up here - sure, as long as the mods know who you are ;) We're fine with people not wanting to have their LJ name associated with fic, if they'd rather not.
